Ants

Ants

Ants (formicidae) are a family of insects within the genus of hymenopterous insects. Currently, more than 13,000 species are described, of which around 200 are in Europe. The oldest fossil findings originate from the Cretaceous period and are dated at an age of one hundred million years. The age of the group, however, is estimated at a possible 130 million years.

Behaviour:
Ants mostly live underground under stones or in insulation layers of homes, etc. Ants are social beings and form superbly organised colonies. They love food and sweets that contain protein.

Damage/illnesses:
As ants do not normally cause any notable damage, they are assigned to the nuisance pests. However, they can also spread germs and bacteria or cause material damage.

Control:
Ant trails or individual ants outside of the building are controlled effectively with Neocid EXPERT Insect Spray or Neocid EXPERT Spider Control. Use Neocid EXPERT ant bait to control the entire ant colony.

Prophylaxis:
Control aphids on plants as these attract ants.
Spray an invisible barrier on entrance areas and window frames with NEOCID EXPERT Spider Control.
