Woodlice

Woodlice (Isopoda) are a genus that belongs the class of the malacostraca. Woodlice are between 0.3 mm and approximately 50 cm. Most woodlice are plant eaters and thus assigned biologically to the detrivores.

Behaviour:
Woodlice primarily live outdoors, in the first layer of soil under rotting plant material. In homes, they prefer moist, dark places. They like feeding on decomposing organic material most.

Damage/illnesses:
In rare cases, woodlice cause damage by eating fruit or vegetables.

Control:

Keep cellar rooms dry.
