Flies

Flies

With the mosquitoes (Nematocera), the flies (Brachycera) form one of two subgenuses of the Diptera. The lifetime of a fully grown fly is often only a few weeks or days. The largest life span is the larvae stage, whereby these occur in diverse habitats and on different substrates.

Behaviour:
Flies are found predominantly in the summer in warm temperatures. They like to stay near dung, excrement, piles of manure or waste in which the females lay hundreds of eggs.

Damage/illnesses:
Flies are carriers of bacteria and thus transmitters of illnesses. They lay their grubs in or near food and can thus make food unfit for consumption.

Control:
Use Neocid EXPERT Decorative Fly Baits or Neocid EXPERT Fly Control. Instant effect is achieved with Neocid EXPERT Insect Spray.

Prophylaxis:
Install fly screens on the windows.
Remove sources of light in front of opened windows.
