Cockroaches
The German cockroach (Blattella germanica), also called the Russian roach in Germany, and the oriental cockroach (Blatta orientalis) and the cockroach (black beetle) is a type of cockroaches. It is known as a storage produce pest which can also cause harm to health through the transmission of pathogens to people.
Behaviour:
Cockroaches love dark, moist and warm places, are nocturnally active and live in cracks and crevices. They are extraordinarily resistant and reproduce very quickly. The very similar forest cockroach, however, tends to be harmless in comparison.
Damage/illnesses:
Cockroaches are omnivorous and carriers of diverse bacteria. They can thus spread germs that can potentially make people ill and thus cause food poisoning.
Control:
Spray crevices, hiding places and travel routes with Neocid EXPERT insect spray. If the treatment is not successful, the services of a professional pest control company should be sought.
Prophylaxis:
Seal food in tins. When spending holidays in hot countries: spray luggage before returning with Neocid EXPERT insect spray, close suitcase and leave to take effect.
